So I need some help. Lately, I've lost the juice to blog. I know, I know ... call me crazy. What is it? I don't know. Something has got to be wrong with me, but I just don't feel it. I love taking pictures, but I'm such a nut about all the freaks in this world that I only post minimal information and don't get personal at all. Hence my blog sucks and isn't entertaining or a must read like some of yours out there. Don't get me wrong though, I love being a blog stocker and viewing all your wonderful blogs.
So I've come to the conclusion, that I have three choices :
- Bye Bye Blogging (I know, I know, Jaimie, you are freaking....but dang you don't have internet anyways.... j/k) (check this out: http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=4699330)
- Go Private
- Keep my lame blog with pictures and that is about it

I felt the same way a couple of weeks ago.
I don't know if you have it already, but you can install something called statcounter which tracks isp addresses that look at your blog. I can usually tell who is looking at my blog, and if I don't know the ISP address, I can tell how they linked to my blog, or where there computer is located. It makes me feel safe. And, I haven't discovered any weirdos linking to my blog or anything. Really, if people wanted to steal your identity and "look" at your pictures, there are a lot more efficient ways of doing it (illegally). There is more info posted about me in the yellow pages. For me, I like to journal and document things about my family, and scrapbooking just doesn't come as easilly for me. So, this is a great way to keep a history.

My blog is private and I haven't had any problems (that I know of). I know it isn't completely foolproof, but at least it will stop people who don't know how to hack.
You have to keep it going!! I felt the same way though (I saw the KSL thing too). So that is why I made my password accessible only.
I TOTALLY hear ya! Steve & I saw that, and it freaked us out. I have always felt the same as "jenny H" that there is a lot of ways to find info about me? But it is just one more thing out there exposing my girls. So, is the best thing to do is to go stupid private? that makes me so bugged! I LOVE when an old friend finds me, or vice-versa, and I get to keep in touch with someone I never would have otherwise gotten the chance to. Private is kinda annoying, and is it really that safe? I need more info too!
Okay, so the few reasons I keep doing it: 1- it is my fix for not printing and scrapbooking my picures. I just know that someday soon they will come up with an easy way to print your posts in a 'mac'book type thing, and this is a great family history. 2- a stupid reason, but if all my pictures are one day destroyed for some odd reason- they will always be on here?
3- It was getting too hard to keep emailing pictures to people who wanted updates.
Anyways, probably TMI, but it has TOTALLY been on my mind lately. Let me know what you decide?
Hey Tenaya, You already know that I feel the same way. my blog has been private and I also have a counter with analytical tools on it. I have encounterd one problem and thats when someone had forward my invite page on accident and they got to log in under the person I invited. I had no clue who the person was but my counter page said they lived in texas and I was able to figure it out in an hour. I have kept mine very simple still and just put up pictures with little to say. It was just a great way to keep in touch. I miss you and I miss being able to see your kids. I have loved to see your blog. I would at least put something on your page to see who has viewed it. You can actually erase your name off the feedjit tracker and you won't be tracked anymore. If you have any questions about it email me or call. By the way what was on the news station about this? I obviously do not get that station out here. Take care Jen
Tenaya, I have thought the same thing so I am going to go private. I just think an extra layer of protection probably isn't bad! Hey thanks for letting my husband steal yours last night to get that dead animal out of my extra fridge in my garage. Gross!!!!
I use my blog as my journal. Whenever I need to vent or just want to remember something I'm thinking about I write it down. Also, I love that I've met some amazing people through blogging. So far, no stalkers, yet.
I'm kinda going through a funk lately too. I think it might be the holidays, and being busy.
We just recently went Private...it is the way to go. Please keep blogging there is nothing else to do in the boring winter but check up on people!
My modivation is to know that my kids will one day read it and remember their chidhood and I will better remember my early years of marriage. We all know I am not going to write in a journal so its easier for me to write on here and then have those Blog companies print it off into a cute book for me. So look at it as following the commandment to keep a journal.
Take a break and then come back to it. Don't stress about it..takes all the fun out of it. Maybe go private...sounds much safer. I think we are going private here very soon.
Geez- Tenaya- I'm a total useless information source! I'm glad you asked the question so I could read everyone else's answers! I'm at a loss to what to do as well. Ugh! Decisions, decisions! But I do love to read all my friends blogs as well to see how their lives are going, to gain inspiration or motivation from their experiences, or just excape from my own stresses, humdrums, or whatever, just for a moment! Always love to see the pics of your cute family Tenaya! Also- love to read your posts (loved loved the tractor post. I'm right there with you on the "hard work" stand & how it's sad, but true how different today's youth are!) & get to know you better from the insights you share! Good luck on deciding!

Okay first all, you have a darling blog and I love to keep up on you guys so don't stop blogging. Second of all, let's do it - I'm going private too and I know it's a pain to get tons and tons of emails of the people you want to keep in touch with, but you're right there are weirdos out there and we need to keep our kids safe.
