Big Race Weekend

So all summer I've been training for a race. Don't get too excited, it's only a 1/2 marathon, but hey it got me out running, I got back into shape and didn't have to give up my summer to running like I would have if I would have trained for a full. (I really wanted to do a full marathon, though...once the kiddies grow up... and I have time to train, right? That's what I keep telling myself.)

We ended up making a weekend out of it and spending the weekend down in Sundace at Laruie's cabin. It was so nice and relaxing. We loved the get-away. Oh.... and the run was nice too.

The boys waiting for me to cross the finish line. So this dang race was suppose to start at 6:30. It didn't start until 7:30 so my poor boys were waiting forever for me. As Chad said, so enthusiastically, "We saw the winner cross the finish line."

Chad's the best photographer ever, the above is your witness. Every time I race his picture of me is either my butt, my calves or my shoes... never my face or back...what is it with his ability to take pictures?

Later that night I caved in and ate a hot dog over the fire. The hot dog was just as yucky as ever, but it was fun eating outside and letting the kids enjoy the 'camping' experience.
